Authors Guidelines
1. Acceptance of the article is possible only through the website (http://gaij.usb.ac.ir). To register on the website of Geography and Territorial Spatial Arrangement (GTSA) and submit an article, please follow the steps below:
- Enter the site http://gaij.usb.ac.ir. Welcome to the website of Geography and Territorial Spatial Arrangement (GTSA).
- Click on the option (Log in), then click on the word (Register). The registration page will appear. After completing the registration page, click on the save option at the bottom of the page, then refer to your E-mail and receive your user code and password.
- In this step, enter the user code and password that was sent to your email through the system, and use the online services of the journal.
Note: It is worth mentioning that you can use this ID and password both for judging and for submitting your articles.
2. Geography and Territorial Spatial Arrangement (GTSA), due to its specialization, only accepts articles on topics related to urban planning, rural planning, regional planning, and environmental planning.
3. The article submitted for this publication has not been sent to other journals at the same time.
4. The official language of the journal is Persian, but abstracts of articles in English are also required.
5. In addition to the Persian abstract (300 words, equivalent to a maximum of 15 lines), the article should have keywords, an introduction, theoretical foundations, an introduction of the study area (with a map and its geographical coordinates), materials and methods (including; findings And their analysis), conclusions, suggestions, list of sources and references.
6. The article should be a research and the result of the research work of the author or authors.
7. Articles prepared by master's and doctoral students in collaboration with supervisors or advisors must be submitted to the journal of Geography and Territorial Spatial Arrangement (GTSA) with the signature of the relevant professor. Otherwise, they will not be available on the editorial board. At the same time, the responsible author and the order of the authors' names will appear in the article in the same order as it is registered on the site, and after that, it will be unchangeable.
7-1. All submitted manuscripts, if students or non-faculty members are also among its authors, should be submitted to the journal only by one of the authors who is a faculty member; Otherwise, the article will not be reviewable.
8. The articles submitted to the journal should be typed and typed in the WORD with Nazanin thin font 13 (for English abstract with Times New Roman 10 font). The margin should be 2.5 cm from the top, 2.5 cm from the bottom, 2.5 cm from the right, and 2.5 cm from the left. The article title should be written in Title 14 font, the author or authors profile should be written in Title 10 font, the Persian abstract should be written in Nazanin black font, the list of text titles should be written in Nazanin black font, and sources, and references should be written in Nazanin thin font 12.
9. Required files to be uploaded: Five essential files must be submitted through the manuscript submission system: 1. The main file of the manuscript (without the names of the authors), 2. Title page in the mentioned format, 3. Authorship form (must include the title of the article and the name and surname of all authors and be signed by all authors), 4. Conflicts of Interest form (must be signed by the Corresponding Author and uploaded with the article file), and 5. Cover letter.
10. Submitted articles should have the following sections:
First page:
- Scientific rank and name of the institute or place of employment of the author or writers in Persian and English.
- Full address of the author in charge of correspondence: including postal address, telephone number, fax number, and messenger address (e-mail) in Persian and English, the above details should not be mentioned in other pages of the article.
- If the financial costs of research or preparation of the article have been provided by an institution, the name of the institution should be included in the footnote of the first page. Obviously, the first page should be in PDF format and sent in a separate file as a cover letter.
Second page: Full title of the article in Persian, Persian abstract (maximum 300 words), Persian vocabulary key (maximum seven words).
From the third page onwards, the main text of the article should be included, including the abstract, introduction, theoretical foundations, the introduction of the study area, materials and methods; Research Findings and Analysis of Findings and Sub-Parts, Conclusions, Suggestions, and References.
- At the end of the article, the abstract should be given in English, its Persian equivalent.
11. References in the text of the article by APA method including; In parentheses with the author's last name, year of publication: and page used.
Example of how to refer in the text: (Tavassoli, 2007: 48)
12. English equivalents should be given in a footnote on each page with an independent mark or numbering for each page.
13. Method of presenting sources and references at the end of the article:
13-1. Example for the book: surname, name of the author or authors, (year of publication). Book title. Publisher Name. Cover number. Published. Place of publication. Obviously, the method of inserting the list of sources and references will be in alphabetical order. Example: Tavassoli, Mahmoud (2007). Principles and methods of urban design and residential spaces in Iran, Center for Urban Planning and Architecture Studies and Research, Volume 2, Fourth Edition, Tehran.
13-2. Example for publication: Surname, name of author or authors (year of publication). Article title, journal name, period, article page number (example: pp. 31-15).
14. Resources used should not be less than 20 sources.
15. The units used in the article should be in the metric system.
16. In the text of the article, the number of photos, tables, and diagrams should be mentioned and their approximate location should be specified. In setting tables, curves, shapes, and images, it is necessary to observe the following points:
a. The information in the tables should not be repeated in a curved or otherwise form in the article. The number and title should be mentioned at the top of the table.
b. Each column of the table should have its own title and unit, if all the digits of the table have the same unit, the unit can be mentioned in the title of the table.
c. Additional explanations of the title and text of the table should be provided as subtitles. The results of statistical studies should be reflected in the table in one of the scientific methods and no more than two tables should be given on each page.
d. The shapes in an article including figures, graphs, photos, and maps, should be numbered equally as figures. The shapes should be in color or black and white and with appropriate and desirable quality and their number and title should be at the bottom. Maps should be clear, readable, and scalable. Mention of the source of photographs or figures taken from other sources is required, as well as tables, maps, diagrams, and figures produced by the author or authors to be referenced to the author or authors. For example (Source: Authors, 2014).
17. The submitted articles will be judged confidentially by three expert professors.
17-1. Obviously, if the article needs corrections from the point of view of the reviewers, after applying the corrective opinions of the referees in the article, it is necessary to specify the items corrected by the author in red inside the text of the article for further studies.
18. The responsibility for the accuracy and correctness of the article is scientifically and legally the responsibility of the author of correspondence.
19. Translated articles are not accepted in principle.
20. The maximum volume of articles, including tables and curves, should be 20 A4 pages.
21. The journal reserves the right to reject or accept as well as edit articles and is exempt from returning received articles.
22. In case of final acceptance of the article, part of the costs of judging, printing, sending and sending, etc. will be collected from the author or authors.
23. After the publication of the article, a maximum of 3 copies of the journal containing the authors' articles will be awarded to them.
24. The original version of the rejected or canceled articles will be removed from the archive of the journal after three months and the journal will not have any responsibility in this regard.
